Procurement Outsourcing – Exploiting Sustainable Cost Savings Event organised by the National Outsourcers Association

David Thomas, head of BPO at Atos Origin, will be chairing an event on ‘Procurement Outsourcing – Exploiting Sustainable Cost Savings’ on Thursday 13th March 2008. The half-day interactive seminar, hosted by the National Outsourcing Association, will explore the key trends and challenges in the BPO procurement market, reviewing typical strategies and approaches as well as outlining of the typical benefits an organisation can expect to achieve.
Indirect BPO Procurement is growing faster than Direct Procurement Outsourcing, and there is a wealth of outsourcing providers now flooding the market. The ‘Procurement Outsourcing’ session will look to address what organisations should look for in their outsourcing partner(s) and whether end-users can demand business outcomes from their contracts along with strong SLAs, and what form these should take?
The event includes an overview of the market from one of the top analyst firms, Everest, along with a number of customer case studies.

Rob Price from Atos Origin will be the final keynote speaker at The European Green IT Summit on Friday 14th March at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London. He will demonstrate how green IT can and should be built into major IT projects, with a case study of one of the largest international projects of all: The Olympic Games.
One of the aims of London 2012 is to stage the low carbon Olympic Games. In his presentation, Rob will reveal the pole vault pendulum to demonstrate how technology can play a key role in lowering carbon emissions. He will consider the role that IT has in running the Games and also the impact IT can have in its broadest sense from helping people plan their journey to the Games through to how the Games are broadcast around the world.

Atos Origin is one of the sponsors of this year's National Business Awards for Scotland.
One of Scotland’s most prestigious business awards schemes, the National Business Awards is an independent programme recognising success, innovation and ethics in businesses of all sizes, operating in all markets.
The Atos Origin Business Innovation of the Year Award will be presented to the organisation that can best demonstrate a proven ability to create, nurture and develop innovations or processes that substantially improve the commercial performance or prospects of the company.
Innovation will be the central theme of this year’s awards, with a white paper on the subject planned to be unveiled at the Scottish Parliament on 16 April.
The closing date for entries is 28 May, with shortlisted finalists being announced on 19 June. The companies that successfully make the cut will then make presentations to a panel of judges, including Steve Langmead, Atos Origin’s Vice President - Scotland. Winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Dinner in Glasgow on 11 September.
